Not Giving a FUNK

Are you scared of what others think? I use the word scared and not “worried” because of a little button on our social media profiles called “LIVE”. When I train people in how to do live videos, they tell me they are “afraid” to press it. Terrified of the little word. When I ask them why, they say “I don’t know it terrifies me”. If you did a little deeper, I guarantee every single person is worried of what the other people watching will think of them.

Now, I have no idea what you might be selling, sharing or expressing that would need you to press this button however I can tell you how liberating and necessary it is.

Social media is by far the number one tool for advertising these days. Whether you have a full time business, a side gig or are an influencer….You need social media.

Do you have a story to tell? I sure do – I love my story! I tell the world my story. I think all of my followers would have heard either my story, what irks me or just my views on things at one stage in their life. This is how I express myself and share products or services that I utilise or love.

Why do you care what others think? We are a country that voted YES for gay marriage and equality for gods sake. Do you really think that the people on the other end of your live video care if you stumble through your words or forget to actually speak? No way – they are super proud that you did it and I am confident that they wish they could press the button too.

What if by you pressing the button and showing no fear and being unapologetically you changes one person’s life? What if you reach one person who needs your product, becomes your friend or listens to your thoughts? What if this then inspires one other person to press “live” and do exactly the same thing?

In life we rise by lifting others. There is no greater feeling than helping someone else for no financial gain. Imagine if you got out of your own head for just one moment what you would be able to achieve by having the courage to press “live”.

Give it a go – even if it is 30 seconds – chances are no one will be notified in time that you are live anyway and it is a great steppingstone for your journey of not giving a Funk.
